Sabah is now looking at expanding investment and development in the aerospace technology arena. Most recently, Sabah is studying the feasibility and appropriateness of building the Sabah International Space Launch Industrial Centre.
With that step, if approved and built, we can see several launches into space being carried out in Sabah. For now, it is still in the early stages, and related studies will be started in the near future.
This initiative is expected to boost Sabah in the aerospace arena, while at the same time providing a positive impact on high-paying job opportunities in the state.
The construction of the space launch center will also make Sabah one of the ones with such a facility in the world, and Malaysia the 9th country with such a facility.
