Snapchat Introduces Ray Tracing For More Realistic Snap AR Features

 


Snap chat to this day is still famous for their filter feature which is Snap AR, where users can use the device's camera and add various 3D elements such as makeup, masks, animations and more to the face or environment to liven up the image or video they want to share. .


Recently, Snap has added Ray Tracing capabilities to their Snap AR feature for a more realistic augmented reality element.



For the first Snap AR feature with Ray Tracing, Snap partnered with Tiffany & Co. to include an AR wristband. In selected countries, after trying on this wristband virtually users can directly purchase from within the app.



Using a smartphone, the camera will scan a flat surface to display the Tiffany & Co. packaging box. Then just place your hand on the virtual box and a Tiffany AR bracelet will be displayed on the wrist. You can add up to four and change the order to suit your taste.
