Today, several manufacturers offer the ability to change the color of the frame to another color when exposed to sunlight or UV light. Interestingly, now Tecno - a manufacturer of devices at an affordable price, presents a new technology that allows users to control the color of the back frame of the phone according to their taste.
Tecno termed this technology as Chameleon Coloring. It uses a "sub-micron prism" material that changes direction when exposed to an electric field. This at the same time leads to a change in color according to the user's choice.
In addition to user control, the background coloring can also be customized according to notifications, music, or battery level. This color changing technology is also said not to use high battery power. Changing colors around 100 times a day is said to use the same color as watching a 5 minute video on a phone.
For now, Tecno has not shared when this technology will be commercialized.
