The former Apple Chief Design Officer, who received the title of Knight from Queen Elizabeth II in 2012, said the logo design was inspired by King Charles' love of the planet, nature and his deep concern for the environment.

This design incorporates flora from four UK countries, namely English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil and Northern Irish shamrock to form the St Edward's Crown which will be worn by Her Majesty the King at Westminster Abbey on 6 May 2023.

This work is proven to split the opinions of netizens. Some people praise this work. Especially knowing that Jony Ive was behind the design.

"It's beautiful! Shades of art, craft and nature combined by an iconic designer," tweeted one netizen.

But others seemed unimpressed. "This kind of design is boring and sucks up to the Royal Family," another netizen commented scathingly.

Some have questioned the absence of a Commonwealth symbol such as the Canadian maple leaf. Other netizens called the design too 'feminine'.

To note, the Coronation logo of King Charles III can later be used freely by charities, companies and individuals for the celebration of the moment of the coronation, including for commercial use, merchandise and advertising.
