Last year, we reported that Sonos will come with a new series of speakers under the name Optimo 2. This speaker is said to be their flagship product and will come with the most unique design. This speaker will also be loaded with great specifications combining many features and functions of their previous speakers.
Now, The Verge reports that there will be two speakers under this new series. Optimo 2 is just a code name and the real names that will be launched later are Sonos Era 300 and Sonos Era 100.
The Era 300 features spatial audio and Dolby Atmos, an audio driver that can output audio in multiple directions, a new acoustic design for a new listening experience and is claimed to have the highest fidelity audio quality from Sonos to date. Not only that, auto-tuning and self-optimizing audio features will also be included, perhaps like the Devialet Mania we reviewed before.
Details of the Sonos Era 100 are still unclear, but it is said to also support Dolby Atmos audio and may include microphone support to make it a smart speaker. The Era 300 and Era 100 are said to be successors to the Sonos Play 3 and Sonos One.
