Twitter Will Charge $1000 A Month For Companies To Maintain Verified Status

Elon Musk has already confirmed that Twitter will no longer maintain verified status for those who do not subscribe to Twitter Blue. Companies and brands that are currently given verified status with gold logos and boxed avatars will have to pay Twitter if they want to continue enjoying this exclusive feature.

According to a report by The Information, Twitter will ask companies and brands to pay $1000 a month to maintain their Verified status. Then for each employee who wants to verify their identity, a fee of $50 per month will be charged. Twitter has to pay high interest after the purchase by Elon. Therefore money needs to be generated immediately.

In addition to Twitter Blue, the company will also charge a monthly fee to access the API that has been accessible for free. After February 8, access to the free API will be discontinued. Other service login systems, share buttons, bots and various third-party services for Twitter will cease after that date.

Before that Twitter turned off API access to third-party Twitter clients causing popular apps like Tweetbot to die. Certainly in Twitter's eagerness to generate revenue immediately, it may have a negative impact as it appears greedy. Other social media sites do not charge for brand and company identity verification systems.
