Updates To Microsoft Teams Will Show More Efficient CPU And Battery Usage

Teleconferencing and online productivity software such as Google Workspace and even Microsoft Teams have seen a significant increase in usage as they allow co-workers to collaborate together on any project more easily.

Microsoft appears to be unveiling an update to its Teams collaboration software this March, which it appears to be calling Microsoft Teams 2.0 by the developers of the software.

Not many details are known about the new features that will be introduced by Microsoft later, but it is said that it will come with CPU and battery power consumption that is up to 50 percent more efficient compared to what the current version offers.

Interestingly it is also said that this latest version of Teams is rebuilt using their own Webview2 engine, replacing the Electron used before.

Microsoft Teams 2.0 is expected to start testing possibly using the Windows Insider program starting this March. So far it is not known yet when it will be officially launched.
