Xiaomi CEO and founder Lei Jun is promoting the launch of Xiaomi 13 globally by leveraging the popularity of ChatGPT. But the move made him ridiculed by Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing who is also the founder of OnePlus.
In his post on Twitter, Lei Jun posted a screenshot of ChatGPT which could not answer questions about the launch date of Xiaomi 13. The OpenAI chatbot obviously could not answer because the database is limited until 2021.
"Nice try ChatGPT, add this to your database. The Xiaomi 13 Series launch event was held February 26," tweeted Lei Jun on the @leijun account.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro, which was released in China in December 2022, will be released globally on February 26 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023.

Carl Pei replied to this post with a mocking statement via the @getpeid account. In his tweet, Carl Pei asked whether Lei Jun knew how AI works.
"Do you know how AI model training works?," wrote Carl Pei.

Carl Pei's tweet also received many replies from netizens, and most of the responses also mocked Lei Jun.
"I think he doesn't know (how AI works)," wrote one netizen.
"He should be working to improve MIUI's performance instead of flaunting Xiaomi's new product launches; no one cares about XIaomi," wrote another netizen.
"Duh Carl, that shouldn't need to be asked," netizens wrote.
When it comes to how AI is trained, AI models rely heavily on computer vision, machine learning, and natural language processing. AI models also use decision-making algorithms to learn from the exercise, collect, and review data points. Then the results of the training are used to achieve predetermined goals, we were quoted as saying from 91mobiles, Friday (10/2/2023).
