Xiaomi has confirmed that it will release the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro at the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.
Reportedly at the event, not only the flagship cellphone will be released, but also Xiaomi's first cellphone that has 'Dynamic Island'. The cellphone in question is the Civi 2, which was released in October 2022 in China.
From the latest leaks, you can see a hands-on video showing this cellphone. The international Civi 2 variant is named Xiaomi 13 Lite, as we quoted from Android Authority, Monday (13/2/2023).
The leaked video comes from Sudhanshu Ambhore, who shows an unboxing of the Xiaomi 13 Lite, which looks very similar to the Civi 2, complete with a 67W charger in the sales box.
The interesting thing about this cellphone is of course the oval-shaped area at the top of the screen where the front camera is stored, which is very similar to the implementation of Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro. Inside are stored two selfie cameras with a resolution of 32MP.
But so far there has been no implementation of the notch from the Xiaomi software side. Even though there are already many third-party applications in the Play Store that can "hide" the notch according to the image or application that is being opened on the cellphone.
Apart from the notch, Ambhore also revealed the specifications of the Xiaomi 13 Lite, such as a 6.55 inch FHD 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, 50MP main camera with IMX 766 sensor, 4,500 mAh battery and 67W charger.
The main camera is accompanied by two other cameras, namely a camera with a resolution of 20 MP and 2 MP (macro). All the specifications disclosed are exactly the same as Civi 2 which was released last October.
Previously, Xiaomi had frequently rebranded mobile phones that had been released in China, which were then sold to the global market under a new name.
