YouTube Tests Premium 1080p Feature With High Bitrates

Last year, YouTube tested a feature limiting 4K streaming exclusively to users who subscribed to YouTube Premium. This test was stopped after being criticized by many users. Recently YouTube seems to be testing another new feature specifically for Premium users, which is 1080p Premium. It is a video at 1080p resolution but with a higher bit rate.

As everyone knows, the videos on YouTube are compressed which affects the quality even at 1080p resolution. Among YouTube's issues is that it can't show fast action well, especially for video game content, so that there are areas in the video that appear to break or display unpleasant artifact effects.

Now, coming YouTube Premium users can enjoy 1080p content at higher quality. There is no longer any need to depend on a specific device and everything is from YouTube itself. What do you think about this feature?
