Previously there were rumors that the United States would no longer issue a license allowing the country's companies to sell chips to Huawei. The uproar is now getting louder after representatives of the Department of Commerce confirmed that they are conducting an evaluation to continue allowing chip sales to Huawei.
Under the Trump administration, technology restrictions were imposed on Huawei. But access to non-4G chips and not involved with cloud technology is allowed. This allows Qualcomm and Intel to continue to supply the chips needed for their various devices. If the permission is withdrawn, Huawei will be in a serious position because they do not have access to the chips needed to continue the business.
Huawei was put on a list of US entities because their 5G equipment allegedly allowed spying on behalf of the Chinese government. Their 5G equipment was subsequently banned from use in the US. Huawei has repeatedly denied these claims and has taken legal action. After the US, their allies such as Canada, the UK and Australia also took similar steps to ban Huawei's 5G equipment in their countries.
