BYD Will Use Orin's NVIDIA DRIVE On Their Smart Electric Vehicles

 


BYD just entered the Malaysian market with ATTO 3 years ago. Many may not realize that BYD is actually the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer at this time. At GTC 2023, BYD confirmed that they will use the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin computer system on their latest generation smart electric vehicle pad.



BYD vehicles from their Dynasty and Ocean families later. Orin's DRIVE computer system was announced in 2019 but is only now being used on modern smart electric vehicles. It has self-driving capabilities up to Level 3 with processing capabilities reaching 254 TFLOPS.


In addition to BYD, DRIVE ORIN is also used on the Volvo XC90. With high processing capabilities, this self-driving computer is able to collect various information from sensors and cameras on the vehicle. Previously BYD announced their electric vehicles will also support GeForce NOW streaming built into the infotainment system.
