CONNECTme Stops Taking New Registrations For Satellite Internet Service For Home Users

CONNECTme is one of the internet service providers via satellite, allowing users to enjoy internet access with speeds of up to 30Mbps anywhere in Malaysia.

Anyway, now, the CONNECTme side made a surprise, and announced that it has stopped taking new registrations for internet service via satellite for home users, called CONNECTme@HOME.

CONNECTme simply said they took this step because they wanted to focus on offering services involving communities in rural and remote areas. All packages on the CONNECTme site are now inactive for public display. With this change, CONNECTme focuses on offering only CONNECTme@NOW products that target users in rural areas.

Previously, CONNECTme@HOME was offered at a price of RM198 per month for 25Mbps speed and up to 60GB usage, or RM298 per month for 25Mbps speed and up to 100GB data usage. This does not include installation which reaches RM700 for users in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as RM1200 in Sabah and Sarawak.

Perhaps with this change, users will have to wait for services like Starlink to come to Malaysia before being able to subscribe to internet services via satellite in urban areas.
