The United States government is seen to be still introducing new economic sanctions on technology companies based in China, and most recently, it seems that Dell will take a rather drastic step for their products sold in the United States.
Where most electronic products such as smart devices and laptops are still assembled in factories in China, Dell does not seem to use manufacturing services and components from China completely for their products by 2027.
According to Dell's internal documents, the company will begin the process in 2025 by stopping the development of desktop computer devices, laptops and their accessories.
In 2026, Dell wants to ensure that the semiconductor chips used in their devices are developed by non-Chinese companies abroad. It is also estimated that half of the devices currently sold are manufactured outside the country.
By 2027 Dell expects that 100 percent of Dell products sold in the United States will be completely free of Chinese production.
This is seen only for products sold in that country, and for other countries, Dell seems to have no plans to change the production and use of components for their global market at this time.
