From many of his promises, Elon Musk has repeatedly denied his intention to make Direct Messages (DM) on Twitter more safe. Today, Musk reveals Twitter will erode the DM feature of the decorations this month.
In his twitter, Musk says Twitter will reject three new features focused on DM this month, which is the option to reply to individual DM, using any emoji for reaction, and encryption for DM, as quoted from TechCrunch on Tuesday (7/3/ 2023).
End-to-end encryption for DM is one of the long-awaited features. With this feature, the DM sent by the user is more safe because no one else (including Twitter) can read the message sent, except for the recipient.
Some Messaging applications have used end-to-end encryption including whatsapp, signal, imessage, and telegram. Because DM Twitter is not yet in detail, Twitter employees have the potential to read DM content that users send.

It is not known whether the End-to-end encryption will be available for individual chat and group or just one. Whether the end-to-end encryption will be active by default or being an opt-in feature is still a question mark.
The encryption for DM Twitter is not a new Proof. Twitter started expanding this feature in 2018 but then canceled. Last year, Jane Manchun Wong's application researcher found a new code that induced Twitter to continue the proceedings.
Not only that, Twitter Desainer Andrea Conway has not been showing the concept that indicates DM Titter will have a banner at the top that explains that the conversation is protected by end-to-end encryption.

For the other features that Musk has to say about individual DM, it is not known to respond to the current DM of the existing individual. Some of the follower musk Theoretical features are aimed at responding to certain chat in the thread, similar to the reply feature on whatsapp.
Twitter users have also used emoji to react to DM, but there are currently only seven emoji to be selected. Musk says Twitter will expand this option so that users can choose any emoji for reaction.
