Last 2021, at the Tesla AI Day event, Elon Musk announced plans to develop a human-shaped robot, and it was shown in prototype form in 2022. However, when the prototype was introduced, it could not do anything, it could not even walk. at that moment.
Now, in 2023, through a special event held, Elon Musk showed an update to their robot named Optimus, which can walk, and perform tasks.
However, it was shown in the form of a video recording, rather than being shown live. But, roughly speaking, Elon Musk showed the progress of their robot development.
Through the video shown, it still doesn't move as fast as the Boston Dynamics robot, but it briefly shows the capabilities and development of the robot that Tesla is developing.
Elon Musk has previously indicated that robots may become one of Tesla's main businesses rather than vehicle production.
These robots produced by Tesla are targeted to perform a number of tasks and help in industry - especially for repetitive tasks, or used in factories.
In addition to Tesla, before this, Xiaomi also briefly showed the development of their robots, including a human-shaped robot.
