Elon Musk Starlink provides internet access in Indonesia, but ...

Starlink internet services have been operating in Indonesia. It's just that their use of service is not direct to the end user.

Starlink is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite owned by Entrepreneur Elon Musk company. Starlink is widely used to provide access to difficult areas reached by infrastructure on the land, such as Indonesia districts.

After receiving the blessing of the Ministry of Communications and Information (KOMINFO), Starlink has now provided internet access in Indonesia. As for the telcoms, the Telkom enterprise - became a Starlink Mitra in Indonesia.

Indonesia's Internet Service Provider (ISP) Chief Association of Internet Service Provider (ISP), Muhammad Arif, has revealed the Internet Service Provider (ISP) who is a member of APJII to leverage Starlink as a backhaul internet network to its customers. This has not been missed by the signing of a understanding note between Apjii and Telkomsat.

"This will open up opportunities for internet penetration in Indonesia, so that the government's target to provide internet broadband services throughout Indonesia can be achieved immediately," said Arif.

Apjii sees a lot of potentials that can work between Apjii and Telkomsat members, especially for the Enterprise segment. The opportunity for members of the Apjii to provide broadband service to the mining and the beach -ranking companies is still very open.

"So the cooperation between Apjii and Telkomsat to provide Backhaul's services is very strategic," said Arif.

Meanwhile, Lukman Judge Abd. Rauf as the CEO of Telkomsat, says cooperation with Starlink is currently making the bandwidth telcomsat capacity increasing very significant.

With such a huge capacity, according to Lukman, the telcomsat was able to fulfill the UNITED STATES of Apjii members who needed a network for Backhaul.

"If the members of the apjii member have been on the bandwidth for uplinks, the telcoms can fulfill it. Currently, the capacity owned by the telcomsat is huge and can fulfill any of the Apjii members requested," Lukman said.

"Telkomsat will not sell bandwidth to end-user. Target telcomsat in providing services to celluler operators and ISP companies. So we hope the telcoms can be an unfamiliar part of the Apjii Member Business in the Telecommunications Infrastructure in Indonesia," he said.
