Exynos Chip Security Vulnerability To Be Patched By Samsung This April

 


A security vulnerability was found in Samsung's Exynos chips and modems by Google's Project Zero. A total of 18 zero-day security vulnerabilities were detected with four of them categorized as serious with the device being able to be taken over without any action taken by the owner. Samsung has now confirmed that all these vulnerabilities will be fully patched this April.



The most serious vulnerabilities have already begun to be patched this month through security updates delivered to devices. The affected devices are as below. If the device has not been patched, to avoid becoming a victim users are encouraged to temporarily disable the VoWiFI and VoLTE features on their device.


Samsung- S22, M33, M13, M12, A71, A53, A33, A21, A13, A12 and A04 series.

Vivo- series S16, S15, S6, X70, X60, X30.

Google Pixel 6, Pixel 7.

A wearable device with an Exynos W920 chip.

Device with Exynos Auto T5123 chip.
