Fahmi : Internet Service Providers Can Bargain at Lower Prices Because Wholesale Prices are Now Lower

Malaysia's Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil has now stated that the introduction of the new cost price MSAP (Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing) beginning March 1, 2023, will allow internet service providers to offer their packages at lower prices than before.

This wholesale price will be implemented until 2025. The new wholesale price effective this month is much cheaper than before. For example, MSAP wholesale price for 100Mbps speed is now RM254.64 per month, compared to RM515 per month before.

With this low wholesale price, it simultaneously enables service providers to offer their packages and plans at lower prices to consumers.

Fahmi also stated that the government will work to ensure better quality telecommunications at more affordable prices for the people.
