Phoebe Gates, the youngest daughter of Bill Gates and his ex-wife Melinda, has been dating a lover of a different race for about a year. Unfortunately, their relationship has sometimes become the target of racism on social media which irritates Phoebe.
Phoebe often appears intimate on Instagram or at various offline events with her boyfriend, known as Robert Ross. Reportedly, they met when they were both studying at Stanford University.
In a recent interview, Phoebe shared her impressions of her relatively high popularity on social media such as TikTok and Instagram. On TikTok, he has 64,000 followers and occasionally shows videos with his famous parents.
However, as quoted by us from The Independent, he thinks that fame on social media is not always something good. Phoebe admits to being the target of hate at times.
"Misconceptions and conspiracy theories about my family and my relationship with my boyfriend," Phoebe replied when asked about the worst thing about her popularity online.
Phoebe and Ross started dating in July 2022. Since then, various racist comments and memes have been circulating discussing their relationship. Most of course targeting Ross. "It's 2023. I'm sick of being a meme for being in an interracial relationship," Phoebe quipped.
Some said his girlfriend was only after Phoebe's money. Another netizen tweeted a video of a black man waving a gun while reversing his car and wrote: 'Phoebe Gates and her boyfriend stopped at Bill Gates' house for Thanksgiving.'
After the image was reposted on Instagram, dozens of other people chimed in with racist comments. "Now we know why Bill Gates told his children they would not inherit his money," read one comment.
Of course, such comments are inappropriate. Many netizens also defended Phoebe and her boyfriend. "They are a happy couple," read one comment. "Actually they are jealous because they are not Phoebe Gates' boyfriend," wrote another. "Don't mind the haters and move on with your lives,"
