How to Track a Lost Android or iPhone Phone and Other Important Things


 Who doesn't panic when their cell phone is lost? Here are tips that are important to do if bad things happen.


The loss of a cell phone can be caused by various events. It could be stolen, forgetting to keep your cellphone in a place you are used to, or even just tucked away somewhere. But whatever the cause, you have to stay alert! Mobile phones include personal items, most of which contain personal data such as documents, information, photos, passwords, and so on.


Reporting from the New York Post, Thursday (2/3/2023) there are some important tips if your cellphone is lost. Let's take a good look:




Find iPhones


No need to worry if your Apple device is lost like a Mac, Apple Watch, or iPad. Use Find My and select your phone to see its location on the map. Play sound for easier search

Your cellphone is offline? Don't worry, you can see the location from the last time you were online or connected via the Find My network.

Another option is to go to iCloud.com/find and use the Find iPhone feature to search for it and open it, then play a sound to help you find it.

Use another family member's device when using the Family Sharing feature. The method is really easy, you can see it through their Find My application.

Find an Android phone


Have another android phone? Open Find My Device, then select Continue As and your name. Select your lost cellphone, then you will get location information.

Play a sound for easy searching.

See the last known location if Google can't find your phone.

Or, open the android.com/find page, then log in to your Google account. Select the lost phone. After that you will get information about the location and there is an option to play a sound.

Lock your cell phone remotely


These tips are important when you don't know where your cellphone is. But don't worry, you can lock your cellphone easily from other devices remotely.



Mark iPhone as Lost


The method is really easy, from another Apple device you can open the Find My application and tap Device, then click your cellphone.

After that select Activate under the Mark As Lost sign.

This method can lock your cellphone and allows you to create a message indicating how to contact it if found.

Or, go to iCloud.com/find and open the Find iPhone feature. Select your lost cellphone, then select Lost Mode.

If you use the Family Sharing feature, use a family member's device to mark your phone as lost. Later you can see it in their Find My application.

Mark Android Phone as Lost


On other Android devices, you can open the Find My Device application and select Continue As and your name. Select the lost cellphone, later you will get information about its location.

When the prompt appears, you can select Enable Lock and Erase.

Select Secure Device to lock your cellphone with a PIN or password. Optionally, you can add a message or device number to the lock screen.

Go to the android.com/find page, log in with your Google account. Next, select your lost cellphone and you will get its location.

When prompted, click enable Enable Lock and Erase.

From another Apple device, open the Find My app and tap Devices, select your phone.

Select Erase This Device to erase the data even remotely.

Select your lost cellphone, then click Erase iPhone.

Use family devices that have the Family Sharing feature enabled. You can find out on their Find My app.

Remote Wipe Android Phone


From another Android device, open Find My Device, Continue AS your name. Select the lost cellphone and you will get information about its location.

When prompted, select Enable Lock & Erase.

Click Erase Device to delete the data.

Or, go to android.com/find, sign in to your Google account. Select your lost cellphone and you will get information about its location.

When prompted, select Enable Lock & Erase.

Click Erase Device to delete the data.
