How to Use ShopeePay as a Payment Mode in the Apple App Store and iCloud?

Today Shopee announced that their digital wallet ShopeePay can now be used as a payment mode in the Apple App Store. This makes it easier for users who have a lot of money left in ShopeePay to make payments on the app, purchase from within the app or also buy/rent videos on Apple TV.

In this article I will share how to set ShopeePay as a payment method and how to use it.

Add ShopeePay In App Store

Open the App Store and tap on the profile picture.

Press username, verify identity and select Manage Payments.

Press Add Payment Method and select ShopeePay, then press Login to ShopeePay.

Enter the phone number you use on Shopee.

Confirm by entering the OTP code. You may need to do OTP verification via email as well.

After account verification, click I Agree and press Back to Merchant.

You can also switch to another ShopeePay account easily.

Pay With ShopeePay On Apple TV

The same way with the Apple App Store, I chose Apple TV because there were no apps I wanted to buy or pay for a subscription to.

Make sure ShopeePay is at the top of the payment mode list.

Open the Apple App Store or Apple TV.

Choose a paid app or choose any video content (choose rent or buy).

Then follow the instructions to double press the power button.

Verify identity with Face ID or Touch ID.

Done, see your balance on the Shopee app will continue to be deducted.

In addition to Shopee, Apple also allows users to make payments using TNG eWallet. I personally use TNG more, so the default payment mode I set is this method.

What about you, do you choose ShopeePay or TNG eWallet?
