Huawei launches the world's first double engine container solution

Huawei launched the world's first double engine container solution. This innovation is to welcome the future of 5.5G technology.

In the series of Mobile World Congress 2023 events in Barcelona, Spain, Richard Liu, president of the Core Huawei Cloud Network product line, announced the launch of the first double engine container solutions in the world. This innovation accommodates VM and containers in one architecture and is designed to build a telco cloud base at the operator level and full convergence to improve network performance and reliability, stepping into the future 5.5g.

In the statement received on Wednesday (1/3/2023) Richard Liu said that the telecommunications industry had experienced rapid cloudification in the past decade. During the process, the application based on VM helps industry players achieve extraordinary business success.

Cloud Telco has become one of the most important infrastructure for cellular communication. With the emergence of 5.5G, container -based application has become the main direction for operators in developing cloud -based networks.

However, containers must still be increased to meet the ability of the operator level and provide high performance, high reliability, O&M easy, and smooth evolution needed for telecommunications services in the 5.5G era. Huawei has led the launch of the first dual-engine container solution in the industry, which accommodates VM and containers in the same collection of resources.

Main technologies such as programmed high-performance frameworks, subhealth detection, cross-over-layer error demarcation, and storage bypass are used to further improve the cloud-native capability of the operator level. This fully converged architecture outperforms VM -based architecture by 15% to 20%, freeing existing software from correlative updates, increasing network reliability, and making O&M easier.

This solution allows VM and containers to be managed in accordance with ETSI standards, allowing operators to adopt containers to their existing networks through expansion of capacity instead of spreading new, and facilitating the distribution of existing resources. All of this increases integration by 25% and shorten TTM up to half.

On the way to the network of all containers, Huawei chose deterministic architecture to overcome uncertainty that affect the speed of progress and realize the convergence of resources, management, and application.

Richard Liu said that the industry was entering the 5.5G era. New services and scenarios appear, presenting new requirements for the network. Dual-Engine Container solutions will help operators consolidate their network foundations, accelerate service innovations, and build competitive advantage, which ultimately achieve business success.

Huawei will work with industrial partners to continue to improve network connectivity, allow complete service scenarios, and help operators create industrial values in building an intelligent world.

MWC Barcelona 2023 lasts from 27 February to 2 March in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei exhibited the product and its solution at the 1H50 stand at Fira Gran via Hall 1.
