Huawei Mate X3 has been launched in China today as the thinnest foldable screen device ever produced by them. In terms of design, it is similar to the Z Fold4 because it is equipped with a dual screen with a 6.4″ OLED LTPO screen on the outside and a 7.85″ OLED LTPO that can be folded on the inside.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G chip is paired with up to 1TB of storage. We could not find any information about the RAM size on Huawei's official website. The battery used is 4800 mAh with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The main camera combines a 50MP OIS RYYB wide-angle lens, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP periscope telephoto with up to 5X optical zoom capability. Meanwhile outside and inside the 8MP sensor is used as a selfie camera placed in the hole in the screen.
When in the open position, the device is only 5.3mm thick and weighs 239 grams which makes it lighter than the Fold4 (263 grams). More interesting is that the Mate X3 passes the IP8 standard, has an infrared transmitter and also has Beidou satellite telecommunications support in situations where there is no cellular network. 5G support however is still not included due to United States technology restrictions.
An interesting feature of the tablet is that there is finally Flex Mode on some applications such as video players, teleconferences and cameras. It is the same feature that is now standard on Android foldable screen devices in the market.
The sale price of Huawei Mate X3 starts from RMB 12,999 (RM8418) and increases to RMB 15,999 (~RM10,361) with five color options.
