iPhone 15 Pro is predicted to sell well thanks to this upgrade

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are rumored to be present carrying a series of new improvements and features. However, an important upgrade is predicted to make the iPhone 15 Pro Series sell well.

Rumors that have been circulated say the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will use the A17 Bionic chipset, the first iPhone chip is made based on 3nm processing.

According to the Digitimes report, this new chip will bring significant performance improvement so as to encourage iPhone owners to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro.

"TSMC's N3E (3NM Enhanced) technology will allow a significant increase in specifications in the upcoming iPhone series," Digitimes wrote in its report, as quoted by Macrumors, Friday (3/3/2023).

"Suppliers involved in the iPhone supply chain anticipate requests for replacement for the 2023 model," he continued.

The first generation 3NM processing is predicted to provide an increase in power efficiency of 35% compared to TSMC's 5NM fabrication used to produce A16 Bionic chips for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

3NM technology will also offer a significant increase in performance compared to the current chip which is made using 5nm fabrication. The smaller the chip, the greater the density of the transistor and the better performance.

Apple is likely to be the only large mobile vendor using this year's 3nm chip. Another digitimes report said that Apple had ordered 100% of TSMC's initial production even though the price was more expensive. Meanwhile other vendors such as Samsung waited until the price dropped.

A17 Bionic chip will be an exclusive feature for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Other cheaper variants, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, will use the A16 Bionic chip which was previously used by the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

In addition to newer and more sophisticated chips, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will also come with USB-C, periscope cameras, new designs, solid state buttons for power and volume, and many more.
