During the pandemic, one of the most robust features of the iPhone is unlocking the device using the Apple Watch. Without having to press the screen, the iPhone is quickly unlocked if the Apple Watch is detected on the hand. But the Apple Watch still has a nagging issue that still requires a lock code with a small interface.
Soon the era of entering a lock code on the Apple Watch will be over if the latest technology patented by Apple becomes a reality. According to the latest patent filed by Apple recently, a camera will be placed on the watch strap. It can be used for identity verification using Face ID to unlock and purchase transactions.
In the same document, the camera can be seen to be small in size with sensors ranging in size from .9MP to 12MP. The Apple Watch has never been offered with a camera before but there are third-party accessories that offer a strap on the watch.
This is not the first time a watch patent on the Apple Watch has been filed but with the Apple Watch getting bigger and having a more powerful processor, it is hoped that Face ID on this smart watch will become a reality.
