Meta Is Developing Alternative Applications For Twitter

With various problems arising on Twitter, some alternative services began to emerge based on Mastodon, or Bluesky from the founder of Twitter himself. Not to be outdone, it is now reported that Meta is also developing an alternative application for Twitter.

The application being developed by Meta uses the code name "P92" for now. It will allow users to log in using an Instagram account. For now, this project is being led by Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram himself.

Interestingly, according to initial information, this text-based social service is expected to take decentralized features through it, making it the first time Meta offers an application with an open concept than before. The P92 is said to support ActivityPub on it – much like other social services under Fediverse such as Mastodon.

It is not yet known when Meta will introduce this experimental application of theirs.
