Microsoft has today announced that the search engine now has more than 100 million users a day.
One major reason why Microsoft Bing's user numbers have increased recently is the popularity of the Bing Chat AI function that uses ChatGPT technology to power it. It is estimated that around 1/3 of the traffic to Microsoft Bing is for using Bing Chat.
This number is seen as very small compared to Google which has around 8.5 billion searches per day, but for Microsoft, this number is quite significant for them because it is the first time that Microsoft Bing has shown such a number of users.
In fact, the Bing application introduced by Microsoft for smart devices has also shown a 6x increase in usage since the Bing Chat AI function was introduced a few weeks ago.
The artificial intelligence function is seen to be introduced in more Microsoft offerings, such as the Windows 11 operating system, Office 365 and Microsoft Teams later.
