Last month, the government officially introduced the Prepaid Unity Package, allowing people to subscribe to the package by also getting a new SIM card.
Through this Prepaid Unity Package, it is aimed at target groups under the category of youth, B40, seniors, and ATM and Police veterans. This package offers a subscription price of RM30 for 6 months of use with a 30GB quota. This prepaid plan is offered by various telecommunication companies, with a speed of 3Mbps.
Now, exactly one month since its launch, the Minister of Communications and Digital shared that a total of 31,092 SIM cards have been sold under this package in the past month.
On a rough average, over a thousand people sign up for this package every day.
This plan will be offered by the service provider until the end of 2023.
