Mozilla, the developer of the popular Firefox web browser, today announced the formation of a new startup, named Mozilla.ai. Under this startup, Mozilla will invest as much as $30 million, in an effort to develop an open source ecosystem for artificial intelligence.
Mozilla states that today, artificial intelligence is the focus of attention, and a number of tools such as ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion are widely used, simultaneously changing how communication and creativity are used in the community.
In addition, recommendation engines on social media such as TikTok and others are also beginning to integrate artificial intelligence, also changing how we interact and view content on the web.
In parallel, now Mozilla.ai wants to develop its own artificial intelligence ecosystem that is open, free and also reliable.
For the initial stage, Mozilla will focus on tools to produce AI in a more secure and transparent form of generation. In addition, Mozilla also wants to develop a recommendation system that does not affect our well-being.
Mozilla is expected to share more about it in the coming months.
