Netflix film Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Wins Anime of the Year 2023

The Netflix film made by Studio Trigger and supervised by CD Projekt, has successfully won the title of Anime of the Year 2023. The anime in question is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

The 2023 Anime Awards are hosted by an anime streaming service and manga reading platform, Crunchyroll. The event was broadcast live from Tokyo, via Crunchyroll's various YouTube channels including Sony Global.

A total of 22 categories were contested, starting from Best Original Anime, Best Anime Character Design to Anime of the Year 2023. As compiled by us from the official website, Tuesday (7/3/2023), famous titles such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 were outmatched by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

This animation, which has been released since September 2022, also won from Spy x Family. At least six anime have been nominated for Anime of the Year 2023.

Four of them have already been mentioned above. Then for the rest there is Lycoris Recoil and Ranking of Kings (Cour 2).

But unfortunately it is not known how many votes Cyberpunk: Edgerunners received. This is because, said Crunchyroll, the assessment was based on voting results.

A little information, for those who are curious about this anime, the excitement can be watched via Netflix. Currently it is still the first season and provided 10 episodes.
