OnePlus has today launched the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock, a special edition of the OnePlus 11 device. This device uses a unique back panel which is a microcrystalline rock that is the first to be used on a smartphone in the history of technology.
The device uses a 6.7″ Super Fluid AMOLED LTPO3, QHD+, 120Hz, Dolby Vision screen, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and paired with 16GB of UFS 4.0 RAM and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The camera is also the same which is 50+48+32 Megapixel and a 16 Megapixel selfie camera. The battery is 5000mAh with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging.
The stone back panel finish is said to provide extra grip and will leave the user's hands feeling cool and have a unique and never-before-touched feel. Based on the image it looks like a marble finish. The process of making this panel is also said to use natural techniques to finish as if it were the surface of the planet Jupiter.
This OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock also uses a golden color around it to look more premium and beautiful. In China, OnePlus also recalls the memories of those who like to come with a unique back panel like bamboo on the OnePlus One, a finish like sandpaper, a soft finish like baby skin and silk and now like a stone.
The selling price in China is RMB4,899 which is around RM3139. Each purchase also comes with a special box and a special edition SIM pin. Not sure if OnePlus will bring this device to the Malaysian market or not. What do you think about smartphones made of stone?
