OpenAI is the developer behind the language model used in the artificial intelligence they developed, ChatGPT. The technology behind it is based on the GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) model, and now the GPT-4 version is officially introduced.
GPT-4 brings the ability to solve various problems and questions with a higher accuracy rate. GPT-4 can also help in creative tasks such as writing songs, writing scripts, and even learning a person's writing style. OpenAI says it now produces answers that are "safer" and more useful to users.
With this update as well, GPT-4 offers the ability to output up to 25,000 words, compared to before which was limited to 3000 words. This at the same time allows it to be used for various purposes more widely.
Interestingly, now GPT-4 offers visual input support, as well as offering analysis for an accompanying image or visual.
When compared to ChatGPT based on GPT-3.5, OpenAI stated that it scored higher in terms of various tests, including accuracy rate, and the ability to complete complex tasks.
OpenAI says GPT-4 is now used by several services, including Duolingo and Khan Academy. For users, they can access GPT-4 through ChatGPT Plus (paid version) for now. Widespread introduction on ChatGPT free version is not known yet.
