Qualcomm today shared through an interview in conjunction with MWC 2023, saying that they aim for Apple to switch from using their modems to modems produced by themselves by 2024.
The latest iPhone 14 on the market is still powered by a Qualcomm modem for wireless connection support, but that is expected to change soon.
Apple is willing to move various developments internally, while reducing dependence on external manufacturers. This allows Apple to control the development and introduction of new features.
Previously, Qualcomm was ready to inform their investors that Apple might stop using Qualcomm modems as early as this year, but now it seems that it has been extended for another year.
