After launching in China last year, the Redmi Note 12 series has officially entered the Global market starting with Europe. There are several models announced which include Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Note 12 Pro 5G. However, Note 12 Discovery Edition with 210W fast charging system and Note 12 Pro Speed Edition are not offered.
The internal hardware for both devices is the same as the previous model in China. Through it the Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Note Pro 12 5G are equipped with a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen (2400 x 1080 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate. This screen also has the ability to display 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports Dolby Vision, in addition to being coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 as additional protection.
This is matched with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processing chip, memory up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and internal storage up to 256GB UFS2.2. The device also has a 16MP front camera that also allows users to record videos up to 1080P/60fps through it. Other than that, other features that are also loaded on both devices are a 5000mAh battery, a side fingerprint scanner, NFC, stereo speakers with Doly Atmos and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The only difference between the two devices is the main camera configuration and the supported fast charging system. For example, the Note 12 Pro+ 5G features a tri-camera system with a setting of 200MP OIS (wide) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) and a 120W fast charging system. Meanwhile, the Note 12 Pro 5G is equipped with a 50MP OIS (IMX766) (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) camera and a 67W fast charging system.
The charging head comes free in the purchase box for both devices. The sales price in Europe starts at EUR400 (~RM1915) (6GB/128GB) for the Note 12 Pro 5G, then increases to EUR500 (~RM2394) for the Note 12 Pro+ 5G (8GB/256GB). No information about its availability in Malaysia is known so far.
