Last year Apple started selling SIM-free iPhones in the United States. Only eSIM can be used on these devices. Now a report from France shows that the iPhone series will also be offered in that country without a physical SIM tray.
This is the earliest sign that Apple is starting to expand its physical SIM-free iPhone offerings to more markets. It is very likely that this feature will arrive in some European countries first. It simplifies the process of transferring cellular support to a new device but will frustrate those who still want to use a physical SIM because they have more than one phone.
There is still hope that this will not happen because in China for example the iPhone still supports dual physical nano SIMs due to market requirements. If the iPhone in Malaysia only supports eSIM, will this cause sales to decrease or vice versa?
