Before smartphones with touch screens dominated the market, Blackberry smartphones became a favorite of many, especially professionals. Among the most prominent Blackberry users is Barack Obama. The history of the Research in Motion company founded by Mike Lazaridis and Douglas Fregin has now been filmed and it will hit the silver screen this May.
Blackberry movie trailer has been released with Jay Baruchel playing Mike Lazaridis and Matt Johnson playing Douglas Fregin. The film will follow the development of RIM and how the first Blackberry was developed. Based on the trailer the history of the company's downfall due to Apple's launch will also be touched upon.
Unlike the Steve Jobs movie, the WeWork series and the Theranos series that have been produced before which have a serious tone, Blackberry seems to be heading more towards a comedy film.
