The Government Is Scrutinizing The Method Of Regulating The Security Of Civil Servants' Applications And Devices

The Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil now shared that the government is looking at a method to regulate and guarantee the security of applications and devices used by civil servants, especially members of the administration.

This is not something new, it is done in various countries, in an effort to guarantee the secrecy of the government.

Today, with the use of applications such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and so on, it can indirectly reveal secrets or sensitive matters discussed in meetings - when texts or pictures are shared. Not only is the problem of information being shared accidentally on social media, but also the question of whether the location of the service server abroad leads to the problem of information leakage or vice versa, especially applications running in the background.

For this purpose as well, CSM (Cyber Security Malaysia) has been instructed to examine the security aspects of all social media applications.

For now, this matter is still in the preliminary research and evaluation stage. Further discussion will be held in relation to it, before anything is implemented.
