The story of the iPhone 11 that was not damaged after a week of drowning

A student named Breno Rafael lost his iPhone 11 which was splashed in a lake in Brazil. When found, the 2019 iPhone was claimed to be functioning normally.

Rafael's iPhone fell into Lake Paranoa, Brazilian, Brazil. Rafael was playing like and there was a woman plunged and sank into the lake. Rafael then saved the woman, but his iPhone was fell into the lake as deep as 7 meters.

The woman who was almost drowned was then successfully saved, but the iPhone 11 could not be saved, as quoted by us from Apple Insider, Friday (3/3/2023).

But a week later Rafael saw a post on Instagram that featured a diving coach named Edinho Rocha found his iPhone at the bottom of the lake.

Through the post on the IG Rocha asked for help to find the owner of the iPhone whose condition was locked. The video was watched more than 17 thousand times before Rafael finally contacted Rocha.

This story, if true, is quite interesting because Rafael's iPhone 11 has been submerged in the lake with a depth of 7 meters for a week. Even though the iPhone 11 is only promised to survive in water as deep as 2 meters for 30 minutes.

Even the latest iPhone like the iPhone 14 Pro only has an IP68 certification, which means it can survive in water with a depth of 6 meters for 30 minutes. Passing from that, the water retaining layer on the cellphone is expected to no longer be able to withstand the water pressure.

This is also not the first time there is an iPhone story submerged in the lake and keeps on. Previously there was also an iPhone 11 submerged in the lake in British Columbia, Canada, for 6 months and still could light up, even though the microphone and speaker were no longer functioning.
