Market research institute Counterpoint has released a list of the best-selling cellphones in 2022. Check the list, maybe you are using one of them.
There are 10 mobile phones in the list. These devices account for 19% of total global smartphone sales throughout 2022.
This figure is the same as in 2021. However, this year only two brands are on the list of the best-selling mobile phones for 2022. This is the data from Counterpoint as seen by us, Wednesday (8/3/2023).
iPhone 13 became the best-selling smartphone last year. This cellphone accounts for 28% of total iPhone sales globally.
This cellphone is still the top choice for users in China, the US, UK, Germany and France. From its release in September 2021 to August 2022, the iPhone 13 has always been the number one smartphone.
The price cut due to the presence of the iPhone 14 has actually pushed up the sales volume of the iPhone 13 in developing markets. As a result, sales of the iPhone 13 are twice as high as the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which is in second place as the best-selling mobile phone in 2022.
According to Counterpoint, for the first time the iPhone Pro Max variant is driving more sales volume than the Pro version and the standard model in 2022. That's why the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the third best-selling mobile phone, even being number one in September, October and November 2022.
The high sales of the iPhone 14 Pro Max were driven by the large number of early adopters and those who wanted to upgrade their iPhone to a higher version. The existence of a dynamic island and a faster processor also contributed to this increase.
Apart from Apple, Samsung is another brand on the list. This is thanks to the success of the Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A03. Both offer attractive specifications at affordable prices.
The Galaxy A13 was successful in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), as well as India. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A03 is selling well in the CALA market as well as the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
