Touch n Go eWallet today officially announced the introduction of a new security feature in continuing to improve their offering, namely TapSecure.
Through TapSecure, it will require the user to verify the transaction by tapping on the user's main device – more or less the same as in some banking applications. This step simultaneously replaces the use of SMS OTP that was used before in doing a transaction confirmation.
With the introduction of this feature as well, it further protects user savings on the TNG eWallet account, and avoids transactions being carried out by other parties. TNG eWallet also limits that only one device can be registered for this TapSecure authentication purpose.
TNG also stated that the introduction of TapSecure is still at an early stage, and it will completely replace the use of SMS OTP in the future. This measure is seen to drastically reduce the rate of financial fraud compared to before.
