The disappearing message feature on the WhatsApp app has made conversations in chat rooms not stay on the device. It will even be deleted automatically for a certain period of time. It is very useful for those who are very concerned about the security of privacy, whether it is the type of data that does not want to be known or otherwise. But not to deceive others.
So far, WhatsApp only supports three time periods for it which consists of 24 hours, 7 days and 90 days. It will however be updated with more time periods in the future. Citing shared screenshots, this feature will later support up to fifteen new time period options.
It includes one year, 180 days, 60 days, 30 days, 21 days, 14 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days, 3 days, 2 days, 12 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours and 1 hour. The addition of more time periods will give users more control over each message sent and received. In particular, the message disappear feature within one hour that allows sensitive messages to be automatically deleted in a short time.
At the moment, it is still under development and will receive some improvements before launching the full version. It is also understood that the update will also be available for WhatsApp users on Desktop.
