Receiving a call from an unknown number is quite annoying. For example, calls from insurance agents, credit card marketing officers and others. There is no denying that it is a bit disappointing. In fact, in some cases, if we are not careful, we can also become victims of scams.
In line with that, WhatsApp is currently developing a new feature that allows users to mute calls from unknown numbers. Named Silence Unknown Callers, it can be found through the app's main settings. Next when activated, all incoming calls from unknown numbers will always be muted. However, the number will still be displayed in the notification section and call list as a reference for users in the future.
This capability can be considered interesting because it can not only reduce and block spam calls. In fact, it also helps prevent users from becoming victims of fraud and suffering losses of up to hundreds of thousands of ringgit. For now, it is still in the development stage and will receive some improvements before the launch of the full version.
