Apple CarPlay is an interesting Apple vehicle infotainment system to use. It is packed with interesting features and functions because it gives users the comfort of using it with an iOS-like interface.
Apple recently updated their CarPlay website revealing that there are now over 800 vehicles using their inforia system. The majority of those listed are vehicles sold in the United States and the Perodua Alza AV 2022 that uses this system is not listed. In fact, the Apple Malaysia website lists 600 vehicles that support this system even though the majority of those listed are not sold here.
In this list 2023 vehicles and those to be launched in 2024 are also listed. Apple has also stated that 79% of consumers in America want CarPlay support when buying a car because it is a must-have feature.
In the future Apple will introduce a new CarPlay that supports multi-screen, more comprehensive controls including controlling the air conditioning, radio and more.
In Malaysia, I rarely see users using cars with CarPlay. Usually if anything it continues to support Android Auto. Do you need CarPlay or continue to use the built-in inforia system?
