Apple Headset Will Offer Key Apps In VR Form

The augmented reality headset Apple Reality Pro is expected to be shown at the WWDC event this June. A lot of rumors have been heard such as issues regarding weight, battery life and a number of staff who say it is not ready to be marketed despite not being approved by Tim Cook. In a recent report on Bloomberg, more information about this headset was leaked.

Among them is that it will come with the support of Apple's main applications such as Facetime, Fitness+, Apple Books and Safari with a slightly different interface. For example in FaceTime the 3D avatar will replace the real face video of the caller. Online collaboration can also be done using the virtual version of FreeForm.

With features like this, a different experience from iOS and iPadOS apps can be offered to users while waiting for more extensive post-sale app support.

So far the various VR and AR headsets on the market have been lacking. Microsoft for example downsized the team that produced the HoloLens with no plans to develop a new model. Meta itself is reducing the workforce because Horizon Worlds has not yet been able to attract the interest of a large number of users.
