Apple May Not Allow Malaysian Users To Sideload Applications On iPhone

A few days ago, we heard early reports saying that Apple is expected to make iOS17 the base before the feature of sideloading or loading apps outside the app store is allowed on the iPhone.

Today, such a feature is available on Android with the installation of an APK file, but on the iPhone it is not allowed. However, due to new European legislation, Apple is expected to change and allow the sideloading feature.

In any case, now comes an extended report, saying that Apple may activate the feature in a limited way – specifically for users in Europe only.

While users outside of Europe, including in Malaysia, will still be bound by installing applications only through the AppStore, and not by sideloading.

Apple often emphasizes issues related to safety and security when installing apps outside of the app store. And in continuing the matter, Apple is expected to maintain the matter for markets outside of Europe. This is also expected to be able to continue the dominance of the Apple AppStore application store at the global level, outside of Europe.

For now, this is just initial speculation, and there is no official comment from Apple regarding this matter.
