It seems that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro may not use the new button as previously reported.
Apple is said to be ditching the iconic notification switch and replacing it with a pressable button. While the volume button is now no longer separate and will use only one button like on Android devices.
The iPhone 15 Pro is also said to support multi-function buttons that when pressed can open certain applications. Buttons are also now contact types with haptic effects such as Touch ID.
Recently Ming-Chi Kuo reported that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will probably remain using the normal buttons as we see on iPhones now. The use of the new buttons is said to only be included on the iPhone for 2024.
Kuo also stated that this plan change is to further simplify the device development and testing process. But canceling the use of the new button will affect the revenue of Cirrus Logic and AAC Technologies, which is the supplier of the new button components.
