Apple Reportedly Halting Production of M2 Chips Due to Lack of Demand

The computer industry was hit hard last year due to reduced demand post-pandemic. With demand for personal computers now back to pre-pandemic levels, no manufacturer has survived. According to a report by The Elec, Apple stopped production of the new Apple M2 series chips because the demand for their computers was also affected.

According to industry sources, production has been halted due to dumping of existing chips. Chip production in March was also claimed to be half of M1 chip production in the same period last year. This reduction in demand was expected after March business income shrank 12% in the financial report last quarter.
