Apple Will Start Using 100 Percent Recycled Cobalt Batteries By 2025

Apple has today announced that they will use a large amount of recycled basic materials for all the devices they will sell in 2025.

These include batteries that use 100 percent recycled cobalt, plating that uses recycled tin, and even gold for circuit boards.

This is not something new because in 2022, Apple has started using recycled materials such as aluminum, tungsten and rare earths with a plan to ensure that all devices developed by them will use recycled materials completely by 2030.

This latest announcement is an important milestone for Apple because in 2022, devices such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, Macbook and so on will use batteries made with 25 percent recycled cobalt.

2025 will also see the year when Apple will use 100 percent recycled gold in their circuits, and will stop using plastic from their product packaging.
