Design

The ASUS Zenbook series was among the first Ultrabook class laptops introduced many years ago, and now with this latest model it is seen to maintain a combination of thin and light design and the use of powerful components.

In terms of frame construction, ASUS is seen using an aluminum-magnesium combination for the bottom of this laptop which houses the components, and also a new material called plasma ceramic aluminum or aluminum ceramic plasma for the back of the display.

This allows this laptop to come with a light total weight of only 1kg, and have a maximum thickness of 1cm when it is closed. Even with this thin design. The ASUS Zenbook S13 OLED still comes with a sufficient number of built-in plugs, consisting of USB 3.2 Type-A, two Thunderbolt 4 plugs, one HDMI 2.1 plug and one 3.5mm audio plug.

In terms of display, this laptop comes with a 13.3-inch ASUS OLED Lumina display with a resolution of 2880×1800 that has a slightly higher 16:10 display ratio, which will benefit those who want more space to work.

ASUS OLED Lumina

Apart from the specifications of the powerful Intel processing chip, one advantage shown on this ASUS Zenbook S13 OLED laptop is that it is among the first ASUS productivity class laptops to use the ASUS OLED Lumina panel which comes with various interesting features.

Apart from promising more interesting color processing, this display also comes with features such as a 120Hz refresh rate, a brightness value of 600 nits, the ability to process 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, Delta E<1 color accuracy, more power saving well, along with DisplayHDR True Black display technology support.

Often the use of laptops for long periods of time is not recommended because of blue light that can damage the eyes, but with this new panel, ASUS promises a 70 percent reduction in blue light compared to normal displays so that your eyes don't tire so quickly.

Battery

ASUS also promises that this Zenbook S13 OLED comes with a battery life of 14 hours through a 63Wh battery that can be charged through the USB Type-C plug built into this laptop.

It also comes with a fast charging system which with charging for 49 minutes, this laptop will be charged by 70 percent. Apart from the provided charger, you can also use an existing 65W charger if you already have one.

Conclusion

Our initial opinion of this laptop is that it is a thin and light productivity laptop that anyone can use regardless of purpose or reason. From office workers to school or college students and even those who work from home, this ASUS Zenbook S13 OLED is a laptop that can be used by all.

We hope to review this laptop soon, and see for ourselves if it's a good fit to replace some of our laptops that haven't been updated in years.
